Privacy policy
What we collect when you use the Astroliya app and website, why we need it, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.
What we collect

How the AI uses your data
Our astrologers are AI. To write a reply, we send your messages in that chat (the last 20), the name and relation of the profile the chat is about, your first name, and chart facts our app calculated (such as planet signs, houses and your current dasha) to OpenAI, or to Google Gemini when OpenAI is unavailable.
We never send them your phone number, your exact birth date, time or place, your payment details, or anyone else's data. These providers may process data outside India. We do not use your chats for advertising.
If a message suggests you may be at risk of harming yourself, the chat shows helpline numbers and stops charging.
When our automatic checker flags an AI answer, or you give an answer a thumbs-down, we may keep a copy of that answer for up to 30 days so our team can check it. Names, phone numbers, places and birth details are removed from it first, your own messages are never kept for this, and every time staff open one it is logged.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not use an advertising ID or ad tracking.
- We do not read your SMS, contacts, location, photos or microphone. The app does not ask for these permissions.
- Our logs never hold your messages, birth details or phone number.
How long we keep it
- Your profile, charts and chats stay until you delete them or your account.
- Flagged AI answers kept for review: up to 30 days.
- Technical records (such as sign-in codes and temporary copies that protect against double payments): 30 to 90 days.
- Payment and order records: as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, linked to an anonymised account after deletion.
Your choices and rights
- Correct: edit any birth profile in the app under Profile.
- Delete: delete a profile or chat, or your whole account. See Delete your account.
- Analytics: turn usage and crash data on or off any time in Settings.
- Notifications: turn them off in your phone's settings.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or raise a concern, by contacting us below.
Age
Astroliya is meant for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
